οι ψυχές ακούνε μέτριους ρήτορες.
Τα χείλη των θαλασσών είναι αδρανή,
ετοιμοθάνατοι γλάροι απαγγέλλουν άχρωμους στίχους.
Οι ήλιοι δε λάμπουν, σκεπασμένοι όλοι τους είναι
με αόρατα πέπλα και άθλιους πόνους.
Τα χείλη των ανθών είναι αδρανή,
αρώματα θανατηφόρα διαχέουν τη μέθη τους
στα κοράλλια και τα μαργαριτάρια που της ψυχής είν’ ευρήματα
μιας παλιάς εποχής, μιας αιώνιας και γλυκιάς πληρότητας.
Η Ορχήστρα του Σκότους δεν παίζει αλεγκρέτα,
δεν τραγουδάνε καλά οι χίλιοι έμπειροι τενόροι,
τέλειο είναι το φιάσκο, είναι αυτό που συμβαίνει
όταν τα χείλη σου παραμένουν όμορφα μα αδρανή.

argenteo silenzio stordisce le montagne celesti.
Dalle selve oscure fino ai remoti deserti
le anime ascoltano oratori modesti.
Le labbra dei mari sono inerti,
gabbiani morenti recitano versi incolori.
I soli non splendono, sono tutti coperti
da veli invisibili e da infami dolori.
Le labbra dei fiori sono inerti,
mortali fragranze diffondono la loro ebbrezza
ai coralli e le perle che dell’anima sono reperti
di un tempo remoto, di un’eterna e dolce pienezza.
L’Orchestra del Buio non suona allegretti,
non cantano bene i mille tenori esperti,
il fiasco è totale, è quanto t’aspetti
se le tue labbra rimangono belle ma inerti.

Suns don’t shine, they are all covered
by invisible veils and infamous pains.

mortal fragrances spread their elation
over the corals and pearls,
soul-findings of long ago,
of an sublime and eternal completeness.
The Orchestra of the Dark plays no allegrettos,
thousands of expert tenors sing no well
as the fiasco is total, it is what you expect
when your lips remain beautiful,
yet silent and inert.
